So I finally got around to taking pics and posting a video of the new exhaust. The audio quality in the video is pretty garbage, but the pics sound good!

Flowtech Longtube headers. 3" collectors. I added the little slips of header wrap on the spark plug boots to prevent them from getting too hot and melting.

View from the side. The exhaust hangs down a little, but in a truck, it's going to be that big of a deal.

I still have to get the turn outs for after the mufflers. I'm just dumping the exhaust in front of the rear tire. I also need to make actual exhaust hangers. Right now, the exhaust is held up by welding rod tied around the frame and clamped on to the muffler using an exhaust U-bolt. Janky? Maybe. But it works for now.

Sorry about that. I knew the exhaust was loud and the audio was terrible, but didn't know it'd that bad for headphones.

Is that a 390? Idle sounds pretty high, could also be all the white noise though.

454. And yea it was idling a little high. Hadn't settled down into it's usual idle yet because it was still a little cold. I just walked outside, started it, and then took some quick video. Note: tough to take video by yourself.

Yea new Weiand intake and edelbrock carb. I don't know if tags still work, but if you click the truck project tab, it should take you to old updates.

Ah yeah, it does work, I remember seeing the very first post when you bought it. You've done a fair bit of work so far, keep it up man, things looking good. How does she drive?

Yea I think I'm done spending money for now. Intake, carb, exhaust are on and done, new bench seat is comfy, so now it's down to little things. It drives alright. I need to spend some time tuning the carb because she bogs down a bit under partial throttle (picks up realllyyyy nice though once it's up in the rpm range). I have a whole host of wiring issues to work out though (brake lights stopped working, only one turn signal works, and the fuel guage doesn't work) as well as some tidying up of the interior to do. Also my speedo doesn't work. And I have a mountain of body work to start chipping away at. So I have a lot of work left, but not that much money left to spend for now.

Nice build. You should call an exterminator to get ride of the bees. :)

I hear you on the little things man. Good to hear the bulk of the spending is over though. My body is in great shape, block is solid: recently rebuild with newish (driven 1000 miles in 8 years) headers/exhaust/intake, but I need a carb and it needs a tune bad. I need to do my interior, my steering rack and full suspension. I want some new wheels and tires instead of the 80's 15-14 inch mismatch chrome deal I got going-not my thing but they were 25 bucks for all 4, two with tires so I couldn't say no.

I'm pretty excited, I was meeting with my internship today and my boss was late so I hopped on craigslist, first thing I saw was new and unused stock replacement leaf springs for a 67 mustang! Score, emailed the guy and he emailed me back 20 minutes later, that never happens with craigslist, I've got my fingers crossed.
